Mike Schultz

A Minnesota native, Mike moved to San Antonio in 1976, where he spent the majority of his career in the financial services industry. In 1993, Mike relocated to Boerne where he became a prominent public service figure. Early in his public service career, Mike was President of the San Antonio-area YMCA and served on a number of the organization’s committees. He also served on many church committees which led to three different master planning and building projects, accounting for millions of dollars in construction.

In Boerne, Mike served five years on the Boerne Independent School District Board, with 2 terms as President, and was a member of the Texas Association of School Boards. He continued to serve Boerne ISD by co-founding LeaderSteps, a program for high school seniors focused on leadership.

Continuing his servitude in Boerne, Mike served as a board member of the Christian Job Corp of Kendal County, Chairman of the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce Board, and was appointed to serve on the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority Board of Directors. Mike was elected Mayor of Boerne in 2011 and held four terms.

As a valued member of the Sonora Bank executive leadership team, Mike served as the Executive Vice President of First Sonora Bancshares and Chief Operating Office of Sonora Bank. Though retired, Mike is currently a consultant to Sonora Bank.
